Breakthrough in dust-free working with the Devo Jumbo Finedust extraction unit!
Perfect source extraction for sanders, angle grinders, drills, wall routers, etc.
The Jumbo Finedust NDD 900 is a completely new standard in the design and construction of industrial hoovers. The extraction unit is extremely reliable, very strong and easy to operate! Performance is provided by two Twinflo' motors with four turbine discs. The filtration system is unique for fine dust but is low stress thanks to the special Hepaflo-finedust dust bags. These dust bags do not clog up with fine dust!
The robust boiler is a classic Structofoam construction. The very large rear wheels and heavy-duty front castors ensure excellent mobility and transport, even in the most demanding environment. The Jumbo Finedust NDD 900 comes with separate socket to which tools such as a sanding, drilling or grinding machine can be connected and which automatically starts the vacuum when the tool is switched on. Also included is kit BB5 attachments to use the extraction unit as a large industrial hoover!
Source extraction
Dust-free grinding and sanding is becoming an increasing problem. The best results are achieved when the dust is extracted directly at source. Together with TNO Delft (*) and our partners, we have developed the "Jumbo Finedust" system for total dust extraction "at source" from your parquet sanders and angle grinders!
The mounting of the dust extraction hoods on the angle grinders and the use of the angle grinders thus converted is exclusively the customer's responsibility! Precision and caution are required!
For this purpose, an extraction system was developed that, among other things, uses special Hepaflo Finedust dust bags for dust collection and further meets all requirements in terms of airflow, suction power and residual dust. We are proud to say that the Jumbo Finedust extraction unit NDD 900 is the only machine that meets the requirements and wishes of TNO and the Labour Inspectorate!
The machine is equipped with two 'Twin-flo' bypass motors of exceptionally high quality. Combined with the specially developed Dusttool kits, this creates a system with very high efficiency. Dusttool extraction kits fit most common professional angle grinders and are available in 2 versions, each with 2 sizes. Connection is by means of a 50 mm hose gland. In addition, there are couplings for source extraction from parquet sanders Devo, Woodboy, etc.
(*) The Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research (TNO) is a research institute with the objective of applying scientific knowledge in practice. TNO has about 5,000 employees. TNO's head office is in Delft, other locations include The Hague/Wassenaar, Apeldoorn, Eindhoven, Enschede, Groningen, Hoofddorp, Leiden, Rijswijk, Soesterberg, Utrecht and Zeist.

Safe working
Fine and quartz dust issues
Inhaled dust can have various effects on health. The effects range from relatively harmless, such as frequent sneezing, to very serious, for example, persistent severe shortness of breath. In the workplace, consideration must be given to the presence of fine dust, and the necessary measures must be taken regarding dust extraction and air purification. The acceptable presence of dust is indicated by the Maximum Allowable Concentration (MAC) value.
Official definition of MAC value
MAC is a administratively determined Maximum Allowable Concentration of a gas, vapor, mist, or substance in the air in the workplace.
Health issues
Inhaling quartz-containing dust can cause severe lung diseases. Deep in the lungs, the quartz dust particles can cause the formation of fibrous tissue. This condition is called pulmonary fibrosis or silicosis. The lung tissue then becomes less able to absorb oxygen and loses elasticity. The more dust you have inhaled, the more damage occurs, and this damage cannot be repaired. The treacherous part is that most people don't even notice much of it initially. It is only later in life that they start experiencing significant symptoms. Quartz has now also been included on the list of carcinogenic substances, and exposure to it can cause lung cancer.
Legislation
Employers must ensure that exposure to harmful dust, such as quartz dust, remains below a certain level. The limits have been established by law, and that is the aforementioned MAC value. The MAC value for quartz dust is 0.075 mg/m³. In practice, this means that a layer of 0.5 cm can float in the air in a room that is four meters high and the size of a football field.
Examples of how many times the MAC value is exceeded during certain processing of stone-like materials:
Activity | Quartz dust in the air (mg/m³) during operation |
Sawing | Up to approx. 15 (= 200 x excess) |
Milling (trenching) | Up to approx. 15 (= 200 x too many) |
Milling (surfacing) | Up to approx. 15 (= 200 x too many) |
Drilling | Up to approx. 2.5 (= 33 x too many) |
Sanding (surfacing) | Up to approx. 15 (= 200 x too many) |
Grinding (surfacing) | Up to approx. 15 (= 200 x too many) |
Sweeping | Up to approx. 1 (= 13 x too many) |
The labor inspection will carry out inspections in sectors and companies with relatively dangerous work and a high risk of accidents and health risks in the coming years.
Extraction
When it comes to dust extraction, it is necessary to use vacuum cleaners with a high capture efficiency (IEC standard 60335-2-69). Depending on the type of dust, the standard distinguishes three classes:
Class | Field of application | Required capture efficiency |
H for high risk | Dust with limit value = 0,1 mg/m³ | 99,995 % |
M for medium risk | Dust with limit value > 0,1 mg/m³ | 99,5 % |
L for low-risk | Dust with limit value < 0,1 mg/m³ | 95 % |
