During use, a black cushion is usually placed between the disc and the machine.

These discs have an open mesh structure that prevents them from filling up with dust and dirt. This extends the life of the mesh disc and allows for more efficient sanding. Grain retention is also exceptionally good, ensuring a consistent sanding pattern across the entire wooden surface.
